Filene's Basement Closing

So I went to the Union Square one first today cuz I got a 20% off coupon from signing up for their Fan Club and I usually find more stuff at that location.

And I did.

Berlin in Awakening Blue, Retail $250 --> now $64

It was marked down from $130 to $80, which went down to $64 with my 20% off coupon.

I'm not sure if I'm keeping it. I've been wanting skinny black jeans with blue threading, but I'm not so sure that the fading is what I want. I found a pair of jet black J Brand skinnies that were on clearance down to $30 which SURPRISED ME. I tried them on and realized why. GIANT HOLE UNDER THE ZIPPER. It pretty much went all the way from the bottom of the zipper to the bottom of the bum. Sadface.

Then I went over to the 18th Street Filene's and found out it was CLOSING FOREVER (another case of lost lease/increased rent)!

And I found yet ANOTHER pair of Rock's.

Kurt in Voracious Blue, Retail $280 --> now $64
Flap pockets with lime green R's. Same price as the other pair since everything in the store was 20% off. They wouldn't take my 20% off coupon though. That would've been too awesome. And obviously, no returns for this pair since the store is closing.

So yeah, should I keep the black pair?

Holiday Shopping = SEQUINS!

My bestest friend in the world went to the J.Crew Clearance Outlets in VA this weekend and scored me these three awesomely shiny cardigans:

J.Crew Sequin tuxedo cardigan, Retail: $110 --> Now: $24

J.Crew Shimmering constellation cardigan, Retail: $128 --> Now: $30
(I also got it in gray during last month's final sale for $62. Wish I waited!)

J.Crew Beaded neck city tee cardigan, Retail: $49 --> Now: $16

I went to the J.Crew on 16th Street and 5th Ave today hoping to find the two things that have alluded me this entire final sale season - the J.Crew Dream sequin rumpled ribbon cardigan and the Slub cotton sequin-snowflake tee (Retail: $45 --> Now: $21), both of which were there! I admit, the prices were steeper than I would've liked, but I finally found them so I wasn't gonna let them go.

J.Crew Dream sequin rumpled ribbon cardigan, Retail: $158 --> Now: $70

I also went to the SEVENTH J.Crew sample sale that started today. It wasn't as bad as the previous ones as this time they actually had things I liked. However, the prices were still a bit pricey. I would've loved to get some brown leather riding boots, but they were all $169. :o( They had Madewell and CrewCuts merch as well. I found some tees with beading and the flower tanks thinking that they were included in the for 2 for $20 deal (for tees/tanks/polos), but apparently since they have embellishments, they weren't considered "plain" - making them $30 each - more than retail or at least close to it. I found a lot of sweaters & cardis I would've loved to get (They were only $35 or $75 if they had 50% cashmere or more), but everything I liked had SLASHES IN THE BACK. Some evil soul literally slashed beautiful clothing with a box cutter.

I ended up getting the ink dot dress I fell in love with this summer. As you all know, the one that actually hit stores was white with navy dots and it came with a belt of the same fabric (you can see additional pics on this blog entry). I GOT THE WHITE SAMPLE WITH COBALT DOTS THAT NEVER MADE IT TO STORES. Cobalt's my favorite color, if you couldn't tell from the caps lock. I did wish it came with the belt, but I'll most likely be wearing a cardi over it and use one of my many skinny belts from J.Crew.

J.Crew Ink Dot Printed Claudine Dress, Retail: $148 --> Now: $60 (Still a bit steep, but it's been going for around that price on ebay and well.. MY COBALT ONE IS THE ONLY ONE ON EARTH. lol)

P.S.
